Printer-friendly version
Customization Description:
Clone of AVID 20V Virtual STEM Academy which removes CoderZ Adventure content and adds Amazon Cyber Robotics Challenge instead

This curriculum was cloned/adapted from the Virtual AVID STEM Academy developed/piloted for the summer of 2020.  In fall 2020, the Olympia School District removed the CoderZ Adventure content from Units 1 & 2 and added the Amazon Cyber Robotics Challenge (available for free) content in Unit 2.  Units 3 to 6 use the CoderZ Cyber Robotics 101 course which may be accessed for a fee annually, or for a reduced cost for 2 months as part of the CoderZ League competition.

This course uses a combination of resources, including the CoderZ virtual EV3 programming/simulation environment, as well videos and activities, many adapted from the live (hands-on EV3 in-person) version of the AVID STEM Academy.  The primary focus of this virtual version is on computaional thinking and coding skills.

Students work independently through the gray-colored & orange-colored lessons and complete the purple-colored challenges, with periodic green-colored group activities and challenges.  At each orange lesson, students get access to (level-up to) new CoderZ Mission Pack.

The Sign-Off Sheet below may be used to check for understanding and track student progress through the curriculum.
