Changing LEGO USB Driver Settings
If you’re having problems with the USB tower communicating with the RCX on Windows computers (like problems downloading firmware or programs), try changing the timeout settings of the LEGO tower driver. To do this:
- Open the Windows control panel.
- Double click on the LEGO USB Tower Icon
- Click on the “General” Tab
-
Double all the standard timeout values to:
- Write Timeout: 400
- Read timeout (1st): 400
- Read timeout (intercharacter): 400
- Leave buffer setting at: 1024
- Click OK and reboot the computer.
