Lesson: EV3 - Under Construction Wait For Light

Printer-friendly version
Overview:
The goal of this lesson is to explore the use of the EV3 Color Sensor and understand the parameters of the Wait-until-Color block. ***Students will learn to calculate thresholds as they work through the "Moving until Dark" video lesson from the "EV3 Video Trainer" product from Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Academy. The EV3 Sound block will also be utilized. ***Available in January
Objectives:

Students will be able to:

1. Write an EV3-G program for a robot to respond to the Color Sensor

2. Understand the different modes of the Color Sensor (Ambient, Reflected, Color)

3. Control the response of a robot through the EV3-G Wait-for-Color block parameters

4. Explain the role of each parameter in the Wait-for-Color block configuration panel

5. Calculate the required Color Sensor threshold for a given set of conditions

6. Write an EV3-G program for a robot to produces an audible response

7. Explain the role of each parameter in the Sound block configuration panel
