Lesson: Greg Darrah: Clone of How Far?
Printer-friendly version
Overview:
The goal of this explicit math lesson is to apply proportional math skills to calculate required Move block Duration parameters for different size wheels. NOTE: This lessons assumes students have access to wheels beyond those available in the base kit. The challenges can be modified to use only the stock wheels.
Objectives:
Students will be able to:
1. Calculate the distance a robot will travel in one rotation of the wheel
2. Predict the distance a robot will travel based on the size of its wheel
3. Calculate how many rotations/degrees are required to travel a given distance
4. Demonstrate actual robot travel distance versus calculated values
