The start of this EV3 Tutorial > Essentials > EV3 Introduction [1] is a review of some of the things that the student have learned. Starting at around 6 minutes into the video, there is an excellent section on EV3 programming, including getting into the programming screen. This video should have probably been divided into multiple videos. It is very rich in information is highly recommended. A menu of other STEMcentric videos and exercises can be found here [2].
