"Move Until Sound"

Submitted by Randy Steele on 15 July, 2011 - 09:03
Overview:
The goal of this lesson is to explore they use the NXT sound sensor and understand the parameters of the Wait-until-Sound block. Students will learn to calculate a sound threshold as they work through the "Moving until Sound" video lesson from the "NXT Video Trainer 2.0" product from Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Academy.
Objectives:

Students will be able to:

1. Write an NXT-G program for a roibot to respond to the sound sensor

2. Control the response of a robot through the NXT-G Wait-for-Sound-Sensor block parameters

3. Explain the role of each parameter in the Wait-for-Sound-Sensor block configuration panel

4. Calculate the required Sound Sensor threshold for a given set of conditions

5. Explain the timing sensitivity when using Wait-for-Sound-Sensor blocks
