Chris Gallagher: Clone of EV3 - Proportional Line Follower & Wall Follower

Submitted by Chris Gallagher on 29 January, 2017 - 15:58
Overview:
The goal of this lesson is introduce the concept of proportional control to a line follower and wall follower. Students will learn a smoother means of controlling a robot's line following and wall following behavior than the binary approach used so far.
Objectives:

Students will be able to:

  1. Describe different methods of line following
  2. Explain why proportional control provides smoother results than simple (binary) control
  3. Write EV3-G programs which use proportional control to smooth and speed the behavior of a line follower.
  4. Describe wall technics following
  5. Explain why proportional control provides smoother results than simple (binary) control
  6. Write EV3-G programs which use proportional control to smooth and speed the behavior of a wall follower.
