VMS EV3 - Moving with My Blocks

Submitted by Kathy Adler on 22 February, 2018 - 17:50
Overview:
The goal of this lesson is to create a useful My Block. Students will learn how to create a My Block that lets them take measurements with a ruler. Students will also practice creating a My Block with parameters (inputs and outputs)
Objectives:

Students will be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose of a My Block
  2. Explain how parameters make My Blocks more useful and EV3-G more efficient
  3. Create a My Block with parameters to control a robot's straight movement based on desired distance and speed
  4. Use a parameterized My Block in an EV3-G program to control a robot's straight movement based on desired distance and speed inputs
