Course: Aerial Robotics 101 - UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Overview:

Aerial Robotics 101 is the development site for the new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV, or drone) based extension of STEM Robotics 101 EV3. This free education resource is intended as a customizable platform for teaching all aspects of STEM and Computer Science through inexpensive Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), a.k.a. Drones.  Each Unit is broken into several lessons which typically include Objectives, a Teacher's Guide, Primary Instructional Material, Differentiated Instructional Material (Alternative, Extended, and Supplemental), as well as Formative and Summative Assessments.  Most of the content on this site is work-in-progress as we pilot this program in Olympia and Tacoma Washington, hence the UNDER CONSTRUCTION label.

Abstract:
Aerial Robotics 101 is the development site for the new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) based extension of STEM Robotics 101 EV3 curriculum. This free education resource is intended as a customizable platform for teaching all aspects of STEM and Computer Science through inexpensive UAVs, a.k.a. drones. The first Unit of this program introduces UAVs for Aerial Robotics and covers operations under the Recreational rules of FAA Regulations. After a introductory review of UAVs, UAV Equipment, Piloting, Flight Operations, Aerodynamics, Coding and Photo/Video Operations are covered.
