Lesson: EV3 - "Move until Color"

Overview:
The goal of this lesson is to explore the use of the EV3 Color Sensor and understand the parameters of the Wait block regarding the Color Sensor. Students will learn to calculate thresholds as they work through the "Moving until Color" lesson from the EV3 Trainer product from Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Academy.
Objectives:
Objectives:

Students will be able to:

1. Write an EV3-G program for a robot to respond to the Color Sensor

2. Control the response of a robot through the EV3-G Wait block parameters

3. Explain the role of each parameter in the Wait block configuration panel with regards to the Color Sensor

4. Calculate the required Color Sensor threshold for a given set of conditions

5. Write an EV3-G program for a robot to produces an audible response

6. Explain the role of each parameter in the Sound block configuration panel

7. Have students use EV3 Help files to learn how to use the Sound and Display blocks when using Line Counting

Note: Some resources may use the term Color Sensor and Light Sensor interchangeably. The NXT had a Light Sensor. EV3 has a Color Sensor that also performs the functions of a Light Sensor.
