Lesson: The Angle Maker (Elementary)

Overview:
Elementary students can explore very basic programming while they are learning to measure the different types of angles. Students should build the basic drawing bot to complete the task of drawing angles.
Objectives:

Students will be able to:

  1. Recognize an angle as a geometric shape.
  2. Identify acute, right, straight angle, reflex angle, and obtuse angles.
  3. Recognize the relationship between the measure of an angle and the part of a circle that the angle turns through.
  4. Use the key vocabulary terms angle, right angle, acute angle, straight angle, reflex angle, and obtuse angle to communicate precisely.
  5. Describe a 360° turn as a full circle and a 180° turn as a half circle.
