Instruction Guide: The Angle Maker (Elementary)
This lesson begins with a review of how to use a protractor to measure angles, followed by building the drawing bot with instructions from the Lego Education site. Students then learn about basic programming and also about how to change one variable to change the degree of the angle. Students fill out data sheets to record the number of rotations required to get the angle measure to change. The students will then make a series of programs with acute, right, obtuse, straight, and reflex angles. The culminating project has students combine all this learning by playing a game where another robot team challenges them to a match of drawing specific angles. The extension of this activity would be the Angle Maker.
