The attached Word file is a set of three gearing challenges from Ian Chow-Miller (Frontier JH, Graham, WA). In addition to the dragsters (gearing up), students are given the option of 2 gearing down challenges: a Snail-bot or a Ramp Climber. This video compilation shows shows several examples of these challenges.
